#632 Worship – Wrong Reasons for Worship

Good Day Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Just as the Pharisees of Jesus’ day worshipped God for the wrong reasons, too many people today worship Him for the wrong reasons.  The Pharisees showed no love for God; they worshipped with a desire for profit, status, and appearance sake.  Today is not too different than then; there are those who worship with a desire for profit, status, and appearance sake.  What about those who attend church in order to build their business?  To gain votes for an election?  To look good to their peers or others they desire to impress?  These hypocrites pay more attention to reputation than character, follow certain religious practices while allowing their hearts to remain far away from God, and emphasize their virtues while emphasizing others sins.  We need to be faithful in worshipping God in a way that is sincere, honest, and honoring to Him.

Make sure the above description of a hypocrite does not describe your worship of your God!

“Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them:  otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.”  (Matthew 6:1)

May God Richly Bless You Today
