#612 Worship – Earnestly Pray the Lord’s Prayer

Good Day Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Many churches pray the Lord’s Prayer in unison as part of their worship experience, a prayer that many of us have known since our youth.  Familiarity often brings the tendency for many Christians to mindlessly recite the Prayer, never giving a thought to what is being said.  This absent-minded recitation has even less of heart behind it.  When we consider the meaning behind the phrases in the Prayer, we are amazed at the blessings that can be ours when we genuinely pray the Prayer from our heart.  In sincerely praying the Lord’s Prayer we worship our Lord by giving Him honor and praise, we ask His provisions for our daily lives, we ask His humble forgiveness as we forgive others, we ask His protection from the wiles of Satan, and we acknowledge His power and glory.  We worship and celebrate God when we are prayerful while another is voicing a prayer or earnestly join with our fellow believers in corporate prayer.

Is your mind and heart focused on the prayer or other matters?

“He answered and said unto them, ‘Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, ‘This people honoureth Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.’”  (Mark 7:6)

May God Richly Bless You Today
