#601 Worship – The Missing Jewel

Good Day Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

“Worship is the missing jewel of the evangelical Church.”[1]  We as Christians attend our local church congregation on Sundays and possibly Wednesdays, but do we truly know and understand exactly what biblical worship entails, or do we just attend to hear what we consider a service for preaching?  Notice the title in the bulletin of most churches for Sunday mornings:  “Morning Worship,” “Contemporary Worship,” “Traditional Worship,” “Worship Service,” or maybe just “Worship.”  Yet, many go to services just to listen to what God has to say through the preacher while never thinking or believing it is important that we as the congregation spend time worshipping this same God who not only desires but also deserves our acts of worship.  Over the next few days, let us consider worship, what it is, and how we can honor God through it in our local churches today.

Search your heart and answer a question:  “When you attend church, are you doing so in order to genuinely worship your Lord and Savior?”

“Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.”  (Hebrews 10:22)

May God Richly Bless You Today

#583 Christian Brothers and Sisters – Quarrelsome Christians

Good Day Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

In our relationship of fellowship and partnership with our Christian brothers and sister, how we relate and support each other makes a real difference.  There are many Christians that spend their time being negative and critical of everything around them.  This is especially true in local congregations where there seems to always be someone or a group that is against any progressive changes in the church.  Although changes that would be contrary to God’s Word should be challenged, changes that would honor God while furthering the church’s outreach and worship experience should be welcomed.  Constant negativism and criticism bring down both the Christians who are expressing such and those around them who have to listen to them.  Staying true to God’s Word is of the utmost importance; however, we as Christians have a responsibility to our brothers and sisters in Christ to partner with them in the positive advance of the Gospel.

Are you a positive influence in your local congregation or one who criticizes change?

“And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient,” (II Timothy 2:24 – NKJV)

May God Richly Bless You Today
