#1016 God’s Presence – Incompatibility with Pride

Good Day Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

A “bad” person can be identified many ways, such as living an ungodly lifestyle, dishonesty in the workplace, etc.  So often we wonder why they continue to succeed while we continue to struggle or why they always seem to have good health in spite of their wild, unhealthy lifestyle while we suffer from all manner of diseases.  The Psalmist wondered the same things in Psalm 10.  The “wicked” will often brag, depending only on themselves, disdaining any pretense that God has anything to do with their success.  Their pride refuses to allow them to acknowledge God’s presence, pretending He never sees what is going on in their life.  God’s presence is not welcome in their arrogant lifestyle, probably because they know that His presence will make them aware of their true self.  A genuine Christian should always welcome God’s presence for guidance.

You should never “envy” someone who has succeeded by evil means, always allowing God’s presence to give you a sense of peace!

“He has said in his heart, ‘God has forgotten; He hides His face; He will never see.”   (Psalm 10:11 – NKJV)

#938 Facing Death – A Desire to Live

Good Day Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Every day there are a multitude of people who face the possibility of death.  Some have experienced serious accidents that put them at death’s door, others are facing a disease that has nearly run its course while still others have lived many years and their bodies have just given out.  Many of these people give up when it gets to this point, and others fight with every ounce of energy they have.  God has placed every one of us on this earth for a purpose, especially to serve and glorify Him.  Although we may be tired of “fighting” death, God may still have plans for us, and we should use every amount of energy we have to stay alive.  It is good to have a desire to live and continue to serve the Lord.

Although you may have never faced death, you probably know someone who has or even is facing death now.  If so, pray for them and encourage them to trust in the Lord for their strength!

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.”   (I Corinthians 2:9)
